Intelius: Three Straight Years at the Stevies
Bellevue, Washington-based Intelius, Inc. and the American Business Awards, or Stevies, have a history together. It scored victories in the Oscar-typed business awards, winning Best New Company in 2006 and hailed as one of the most innovative companies in 2007. The firm, headed by Naveen Jain, is a top provider of online intelligence services ranging from background checks, verification, screening, and people search services. For the third consecutive year, Jain’s company competed with other top firms in the Stevies in four categories, namely: “Most Innovative Company of the Year,” “Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year,” “Executive of the Year – Services,” and “Product Development/Management Executive of the Year.”
Making it to the Stevies is proof enough of a company’s topnotch standing in the IT world. A nomination illustrates a company’s peer reputation and the prospects of getting a trophy depends on the able judgment of a group of prominent executives in corporate America. Intelius’ three-year streak validates its outstanding place in the industry.
Leadership nominations are not new to Intellius’ executive team. Jain is recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Red Herring’s choice of Top 20 Entrepreneurs of the Year. Other co-founders, including John Arnold, already received two nominations at the Stevies, while Niraj Shah and Ed Petersen were honored at the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 program for excellent leadership.
The Stevies is not the only body Intellius has been celebrated at. Its prominent philanthropy work endears it to several local and national nonprofits who have been beneficiaries of the firm’s generosity since 2003. For Intelius’ commitment to philanthropy and corporate social responsibility, it was hailed one among the Top 15 Corporate Philanthropists in the Puget Sound area by the Puget Sound Business Journal. It also received a citation as Eastside Outstanding Community Citizen during the Eastside Business Awards.
